Training Renewal Course 

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course will emphasize the crucial components of providing high-quality early care and education to young children. The purpose of this training is to provide current child care teachers the opportunity to acquire and/or enhance information and skills they need to effectively operate a their classrooms.

Upon satisfactorily completing FCCPC/CDA Renewal Training for Credentials Certificate program of study, students should be able to:

  • Demonstrate ways to employ the NAEYC Code of Ethical Code Conduct to validate professional standards for children, families, staff, and community
  • Identify strategies to promote healthy brain development
  • Identify major developmental milestones related to movement and fine motor skills from birth through age 5
  • Identify ways in which infectious diseases are spread • Identify safe practices for preventing the spread of blood borne pathogens in the child care setting
  • Define goals and setting them for success
  • Identify the purpose of early childhood assessment tools
  • Define social development, emotional development, and temperament
  • Identify the roles of parents and child care providers in providing positive guidance to children
  • Recognize the role of empathy in communication
