Training Renewal Course
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course will emphasize the crucial components of providing high-quality early care and education to young children. The purpose of this training is to provide current child care teachers the opportunity to acquire and/or enhance information and skills they need to effectively operate a their classrooms.
Upon satisfactorily completing FCCPC/CDA Renewal Training for Credentials Certificate program of study, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate ways to employ the NAEYC Code of Ethical Code Conduct to validate professional standards for children, families, staff, and community
- Identify strategies to promote healthy brain development
- Identify major developmental milestones related to movement and fine motor skills from birth through age 5
- Identify ways in which infectious diseases are spread • Identify safe practices for preventing the spread of blood borne pathogens in the child care setting
- Define goals and setting them for success
- Identify the purpose of early childhood assessment tools
- Define social development, emotional development, and temperament
- Identify the roles of parents and child care providers in providing positive guidance to children
- Recognize the role of empathy in communication
