Development of educational programs that improve motor, language and cognitive development of children, including literacy development

To identify materials and activities that will enhance the physical development of children

To learn how to create a preschool environment that encourages exploration, curiosity and critical thinking

To learn techniques for introducing meaningful themes into classrooms

To learn how to present reading activities and to read stories to children

To recognize the relationship between language development and real-world experiences

To select books that foster empathy, promote pro-social behavior; counteract bias, and support bilingualism

During this session you will learn about the Florida Standards and the learning environments. You create within your setting the foundation for children's growth and development. How your environment is configured impacts children's mastery of social, emotional, cognitive, and physical and language skills. 

In Session 5 you will learn how the following critical elements work together to create an effective learning environment:

· Designing the Indoor Setting.

· Selecting Appropriate Materials.

· Planning Curricula for Children.

· Developing the Daily Schedule.

· Implementing the Daily Schedule.
