COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course will emphasize the crucial components of providing high-quality early care and education to young children. The purpose of this training is to provide current child care teachers the opportunity to acquire and/or enhance information and skills they need to effectively operate their classrooms.

Upon satisfactorily completing FCCPC/CDA Renewal Best Practice Training for Credentials Certificate program of study, students should be able to: 

 

  • Demonstrate ways to employ the NAEYC Code of Ethical Code Conduct to validate professional standards for children, families, staff, and community 

  • Identify strategies to promote healthy brain development ​

  • Identify major developmental milestones related to movement and fine motor skills from birth through age 5  Identify ways in which infectious diseases are spread 

  • Identify safe practices for preventing the spread of bloodborne pathogens in the child care setting  Define goals and setting them for success 

  • Identify the purpose of early childhood assessment tools 

  • Define social development, emotional development, and temperament 

  • Identify the roles of parents and child care providers in providing positive guidance to children.

  • Recognize the role of empathy in communication
